The Jaguar Mark X (Mark ten), later renamed Jaguar 420G, was the top-of-the-range sedan from the British manufacturer Jaguar for a decade from 1961 to 1970. The large, luxurious Mark X succeeded the Mark IX. top saloon model, and was mainly aimed at the US market. The company hoped the car would appeal to heads of state, diplomats and movie stars. Introduced in the same year as Jaguar's iconic E-Type, the Mark X impressed with its technical specifications and innovations. Unlike its predecessors, the car had an integrated one-piece body and independent rear suspension, unheard of for British luxury cars of the early 1960s. In combination with the 3.8-liter triple carburettor engine as fitted to the E-type, it gave Jaguar's flagship top speed of 120 mph (193 km / h) and capable handling for less than half the price of today's Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. Despite the acclaim from the press from both sides of the Atlantic, the Mark X never achieved its sales targets. When Jaguar decided to replace its entire sedan range with one new model, the resulting 1968 XJ6 used the Mark X as its template - albeit with a smaller size. Jaguar did not build another car as big as the Mark X / 420G for the rest of the century until the LWB version of the Jaguar XJ (X350) 2003-2009.

For the London Motor Show in October 1966, the Mark X was renamed Jaguar 420G (not to be confused with the smaller Jaguar 420). The 420G differed from the Mark X only by the addition of a vertical center bar that split the grille in half, side turn signals on the front fenders, and a chrome strip along the wing and door panels (two-tone paint schemes were also available with the chrome strip has been omitted). Interior changes included perforations in the central parts of the leather seats, padded dashboard sections for safety, the clock to a central position and the introduction of air conditioning as an option. A limousine variant was available on the standard wheelbase; a fixed one-piece backrest with a sliding glass wall replaced the individual seats of standard cars. Despite running the same length as the Mark X (five years), the 420G sold in less than a third of the numbers. This lack of popularity and the increasing production of the smaller XJ6 caused the 420G to cease production in 1970.

This copy of the 420 is originally from the USA (California) and imported to the Netherlands in 1996. In 2003 the car was completely restored by order of a Jaguar enthusiast / collector. The paint is a beautiful dark blue and has a deep shine. The interior is beautiful with elegant light leather and the famous walnut. The engine has also been taken apart and overhauled down to the last screw. After completion of the restoration, it has hardly been driven and the car has always been stored indoors. The car comes with a box full of invoices, photos of the restoration and other documents. Includes Jaguar certificate. The original maintenance booklets and wheel nuts with accompanying hammer are also included with the car. Both the interior and the exterior are in beautiful condition, a true lover's copy.

Ranging from rare classic to premiums for everyday use. All copies in our collection all have one thing in common, they represent who we are and each function as a calling card for our company.
